Johnny Depp and his singer other half, Vanessa Paradis, are starring in a movie (directed by upcoming "The Danish Girl" director Lasse Hallström) about the relationship between French feminist and thinker Simone de Beauvoir and American Novelist Nelson Algren (Empire, The Playlist). Interesting...may we hold our breaths or expect another Eyes Wide Shut? Or, god forbid, another Gigli? I think we're safe, seeing as how these are two classy motherfuckers, and also my sister will be very mad if I doubt.
RJ Cutler of The Spetember Issue is doing an adaption of the teen-girls-in-the-BigApple book Au Pairs, backed by Drew Barrymore's Flower Films.
Elizabeth Banks is joining Bradley Cooper on some sci-fi-thriller called Dark Fields. Bradley Cooper, frankly, does nothing for me. Looks like the child of a bottle of blonde dye and perma-stubble, he does.
Hugh Laurie vehicle The Oranges gets Allison Janney, Adam Bordy (who I like, and is in Cop Out, which was a nice little surprise), and Catherine Keener. Also, Whip It!'s Alia Skawkat. I mentioned this movie some time ago, I believe.
"Incarceron follows the adventures of a boy who lives inside a prison that is its own, locked-off society. Beyond the walls, the outside world is stuck in the 17th century yet overseen by computers. But when our hero meets the warden’s daughter, they discover a key that could change everything." And it is now going to be a movie, ya'll. Praises be with you, whatnot.
Angelina Jolie, quite the active lady-person these days. First she maybe-signs-on with AllByMyself space-drama "Gravity", which sounds watchable, now she's up for Darren Aronofsky's "Serena", a Macbeth-reminiscent tale of a woman pushing her husband to more ruthless acts in North Carolina 1929, in the woods, no less.
Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black penning the script for a biopic about the life of J. Edgar Hoover. You know, he was the first director of the FBI, pursued John Dillinger, played by Dr. Manhatten that one time, was batshit insane...
Edgar Wright confirms much-anticipated-by-me Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World will diverge from the graphic novels around #3.
Alice in Wonderland officially has the worst soundtrack ever.
EDIT: Will Smith and Eva Mendes remaking a Hitchcock movie, Supsicion. Horror of horrors.
Eliza Dushku and Joss Whedon may be doing a movie together. Dump her while you still can, Whedon, christ!
