Thoughts on the fucking Oscars

Sunday, February 27, 2011 8:42 PM By Simon

Kirk Douglas and Banksy are in cahoots. I fucking know it.

When the King's Speech won, I'm not gonna lie, me and my sister lost our cool for a second. Some words were said, some feelings were hurt, some couches mutilated.

One funny thing I saw on the Film Rejects Live Blog, during Kirk Douglas's epic adventure: "He's gone rogue!"

Javier Bardem's clip was heartbreaking, dude.

That is all.

In the words of Mr. Scott (George C.): "It's just a goddamn meat parade..."

I can't understand WHY the hell did they pick the King's speech?!?!? What movie were you hoping that would win the Best Picture of the year? I was thinking that the Social Network would win but I wanted Winter's Bone to win. (there's something about me that wants the under-dog to win or in this case, winter's bone.)

How To Train Your Dragon was robbed for best score. I don't care what anyone else says.

@ Sugary Cynic: Nah, I love me some Rezner and Fincher, I do. Especially Intriguing Possibilities. That is burning up my iPod.

I understand, if I hadn't been so drunk I'd have destroyed my TV after TKS won.

Yojimbo: Yeah. Sexy, sexy meat.

Lindsay: I can't say I particularly cared, because, y'know, it's not like losing would erase the movie from existence or anything. But it got to be a point where I was actively hoping for everything not TKS.

Sugary: I said nothing.

Darren: I kind of wanted the cover of Creep. Just because.

Luke: Made the night less embarassing.

Jose: Dude. It's your sacred duty to get all your feelings out while still drunk. You have an instant excuse!

Dan: Ha. Ha. Ha...

When INCEPTION started winning some Oscars, I thought my dream (yes!) of it winning Best Picture was going to happen... Then reality set in... Or did it?
