Movie Meme

Sorta That Guy has bestowed upon us a new meme. Since I find myself strapped for computer time, I must do as much meme-responding as quick and as soon as possible, ie now. So, sorry, here are all my answers:

Day 01 - Sequel that should not have been made

--Damn you, Dead Like Me: Life After Death ! And, yes, I count that as a sequel.

Day 02 - Movie that you think more people should see

--Wristcutters: A Love Story. A beautifully dark comedy that makes you happy and sad.

Day 03 - Favorite Oscar-nominated movie from most recent ballot

--A Serious Man. It's different, people.

Day 04 - Movie that makes you laugh every time

--The Full Monty. Never fails, that unemployment line scene.

Day 05 - Movie you loathe

--I'll see you in hell, The Blind Side.

Day 06 - Movie that makes you cry every time

--Schindler's List and Forrest Gump. Shut up.

Day 07 - Least favorite movie by a favorite actor or actress

--Havoc. I love you, JGL, but...
--Also, Tim Roth in The Planet of the Apes.

Day 08 - Movie that should be required high school viewing

--Donnie Darko. Teen angst and psychotic rabbits will come into play eventually, why not desensitize the poor lads from them?

Day 09 - Best scene ever

--Right now? The opening of Inglorious Basterds. Or the hallway fight in Inception. Or Peter's introduction in Funny Games US. Or so many others.

Day 10 - A movie you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

--The A-Team. You do your thang, Sharlto Copley.

Day 11 - A movie that disappointed you

--The Big Lebowski. Great film, but everyone's gotta calm themselves.

Day 12 - Best soundtrack/background music in a scene

--"Rabbia E Tarentella", Ennio Morricone, Inglorious Basterds end credits.

Day 13 - Favorite animated movie

--A Scanner Darkly. Or Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.

Day 14 - Favorite film in black and white

--Right now, Strangers on a Train. Or The Great Dictator. Farley Granger and Charlie Chaplin. Sigh.

Day 15 - Best musical

--Moulin Rouge!, says my cliched self.

Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure movie

--Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I'm a sucker for meta-humor.

Day 17 - Favorite series of related movies

--Does The Vengeance Trilogy count?

Day 18 - Favorite title sequence

-Mulholland Drive, then Vertigo.

Day 19 - Best movie cast

--Inception, in terms of star power.

Day 20 - Favorite kiss

--Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel in Manic, followed by Frido and Michael in The Godfather Part II. Tragic, the lot of you.

Day 21 - Favorite romantic couple

--Nah.

Day 22 - Favorite final scene/line

--"I think this just might be my masterpiece."

and

--"Or not."

Day 23 - Best explosion or action scene

-HALLWAY ZERO GRAVITY FISTFIGT IN INCEPTION!

Day 24 - Quote you use most often

--None, really. Unless "Brilliant" counts.

Day 25 - A movie you plan on watching (old or new)

--Tenebrae.

Day 26 - Freakishly weird movie ending

--David Lynch, our saviour.

Day 27 - Best villain

--Christoph Waltz, Inglorious Basterds, She (?) in Antichrist, Mr. Baek in Lady Vengeance, and Hayley/Jeff in Hard Candy.

Day 28 - Most over-hyped movie

--Casablanca. Hype has no merit on the film itself, but everyone shut up about it.

Day 29 - Movie you have watched more than ten times

--Toy Story.

Day 30 - Saddest death scene

--Oh, Baby Dawn...

Day 31 - Scene that made you stand up and cheer

--The Crazy 88 scene in Kill Bill Vol 1. Because I'm weird.

I'm digging the love for Tarantino and Inglourious Basterds. I was happy Oscar acknowledged The Hurt Locker last year, but I was pissed IB was snubbed so badly. It was one of the best films of the decade.

I literally was commenting on what a great movie moment the crazy 88 scene was for some odd reason, so you aren't alone.

I've finally seen Casablanca and I felt like I needed to watch it again to get why it WAS SO GREAT. Good, an absolute classic, and moving love story, but honestly, didn't blow me away. I felt alone for feeling that way! ha!

I gotta represent the Dude though. It's not as though the film needs to be plated in gold or anything, but it's a damn funny movie.

Nice.

Not participating in this...the TV one was such a slog (and the originator didn't even finish it!), and, frankly, I'm so far behind in my writing, I'm just trying to maintain a schedule. I CAN say that there is nothing on your list that would match my list, but your list gives me a Joker-grin, and brings back a lot of happy movie-memories (and isn't that the point?).

Thanks for the herculean, homeric effort.

@Yojimbo_5 Hope "the originator" you are talking about is not me since I did finish it. But it's probably not me so ignore this! Sorry!

@Simon LOVE. Your comments to The Blind Side and Sharlto Copley was hilarious and RIGHT ON.

Sharlto Copley is THE MAN. Also my friends circle is distinctly lacking in Tarantino fanatics, so it's nice to hear when other people really dig him. Also Moulin Rouge is one of maybe three musicals that doesn't give me the urge to kill.

Heather: I know it's damn funny. But some people treat it to near-deity status. IB is brilliant, indeed.

Yojimbo and Ryan T: Why thank you, good sirs. I do try.

Sugary: How can people not dig Tarantino? He rules us nerds with an iron fist.

Frank: You don't be a ratard. Everyone else was the anti-hero.
