Thoughts on Jackie Brown

-A drug bust at an airport leads to a convoluted triple-crossing heist, with badass flight attendant Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) at its center.

-Samuel L. Jackson sports the worst facial/hair in existence. Prove me wrong, bitches.

-Robert Forrester, meanwhile, is kind of awesome as Jackie's bondsman and eventual partner in crime. But he should say 'Da Bears' more often.

-Bridget Fonda was cool once. We all forget in the wake of that shit Nikita remake, but she's a good actress. Falls victim to Tarantino's foot fetish, but we all move on, we do.

-Speaking of which. Like any of the legends he gets in his movies, Tarantino follows Grier around with a slack-jawed gaze that suggests

Great film! Not Tarantino's best, but I must say that the tension kept me watching the whole time. Good Review!

Wow - you're totally raiding my "recently watched" list on Netflix! I feel like this is the third time you've watched something around the same time as me. That aside, did you like Jackie Brown? I couldn't really tell from your assessments. I'm a big fan, and I think Grier should've had a realer shot at the Oscar that year...

SugaryL I forget. Stupid blogger.

Dan: Thanks...

Luke: I thought it was Tarantino's *giggle* most mature work. Grier is the new resident Holy Goddess of Badassery. Have you ever noticed how Tarantino has never shot a straight-up sex scene? The few that he has were punchlines more than anything. I just realized...

Great acting, like everyone else has noted this isn't as good as Pulp Fiction, but few films are.

My favorite out of all Tarantino's movies! =O

I like to jog while listening to that song in the beginning where Pam was running at the airport.

This is my second favorite QT (after Inglorious Basterds). I just appreciated the fact that he was dealing with older folks deep in their second acts. And Grier and Forster are brilliant (And Keaton! He plays that character in Out of Sight, too!)

I'm on the Jackie Brown band wagon - it's my favourite of the Tarantino films. A movie about real people with real motivations, hip soundtrack but everything feels like it could actually exist not just an exercise in filmmaking.
