Thoughts on Let Me In

-It really is amazing how similar this is to the original, camera-wise. There's all I'll be comparing.

-I lied.

-Please hold your death threats, kay, but I do think that Kodi Smit-McPhee is a tad better than Kare Hedebrant, in that he displays both the disturbance of Oskar/Owen, while also making him sympathetic and oddly innocent.

-Chloe Moretz is...fine.

-I liked it when both the kids were androgynous. Here, they are clearly boy and girl.

-Otherwise, this really is quite beautiful. Touching and more heartbreaking the more you think about it.

-Shit gets hardcore. Yo.

Kodi Smit-McPhee has some serious work to do to win me over after The Road. I'm pretty excited to see this version, and I am glad that it is getting good reviews, but I haven't heard anyone say it is as good as the original yet either.

I hate reading all these positive reviews for Let Me In, it's getting harder to be righteously indignant about it.

Is it worth seeing if you have seen the original?

They are different. Although the pool scene is handled differently. Overall the American cast was better than the Swedish version.

Fitz: for the most part, yes, but there's no way Chloe Moretz can compare to Kåre Hedebrant.

Matt-suzaka: It's not. I just like it better because the subtitles original is notoriously hard to come by.

Sugary: Lower your defenses, young'n. It really isn't very bad.

Dan: Of course you do. She's an authority on things.

Castor: Certainly.

Fitz: Yeah. I didn't care for the kid who played Oskar.

Danielle: Get out of here.

I totally want to see this movie. Honestly I tried to watch the Swedish version & I thought it was a lil too slow. I'm going to try again tho with it. I think the lil girl Kodi is awesome. I'm going wait for a maitnee but this is on my list!

Melanie: The Swedish version does start off slow, but it gets better. How far did you get into it?

Kodi Smit-McPhee? He's the boy. Chloe Moretz is the girl.

I have to agree with some of you here. Just saw it last night, and though I like the original boy, Kodi was quite good. Simon, you're very accurate about Moretz. She's... tolerable. Overall, the movie had its westernized changes, but apparently they weren't plenty enough judging by the box office. Too bad - the original is pretty great.
