Thoughts on Camp

-Atypical ragtag bunch of misfits go to theatre camp. Relationship dramatic hilarity ensues. Or whatever.

-The storytelling isn't that good, the acting questionable (though the singing is pretty great), the writing rather mediocre, and at times it reaches absurd levels of corny. So why the fuck did I love it so much? It could be the hey-let's-all-dance-around-in-drag-to-support-that-one-guy-who-got-beat-up-for-it-at-his-junior-prom attitude the film exudes, it could be the honestly touching moments speckled througout. Or it could be this:

If you knew the context of this, it would rock even harder, but for now, just enjoy the awesomesause that is Anna Kendrick, may she claw her way out of the sinkhole that is Twilight (which she has already, but shut up).

Man this movie was too weird and poorly scripted to actually be good, but I've definitely found myself watching it a bunch of times just because. Anna Kendrick is probably the best part, and I love that scene!

Never saw Camp, but much respect to Anna Kendrick. I knew she was going to be huge when I first saw her in Rocket Science. Any day now.

I'd honestly heard this movie's title thrown around time and again, but I never knew the premise. And now I'm going to have to rent it, because it sounds kind of delightful. And that clip is great fun.
